Paige Fitzgerald has been a public school teacher in NYC’s District 75, as well as a contracted private teacher for families. She believes in taking a holistic approach to teaching and incorporates that belief into the services offered at IEPractices.
Prior to her teaching career, Paige worked in a residential treatment center for children with severe behavioral challenges and emotional disabilities. It was in that setting that her desire to work in the field of special education came about.
She has a dual M. Ed in Elementary and Special Education, is trained in the Orton Gillingham approach, is a SEAT 1.0 level Advocate (currently training for level 2.0), and is a certified facilitator of the Brick-by-Brick Program.
In her free time, she loves going out to dinner with her husband and kids (preferably somewhere with outdoor seating), reading a good book, and trying (with mixed success) to bake for her family and friends.
Kate Magaldi spent most of her teaching years in New Haven Public Schools. There, she faced the unique challenge of working in a historically underperforming school that had recently been taken over by a turnaround organization. During this transformative time, Kate took on the role of Special Education Chairperson for the entire school, overseeing all aspects of special education services. This leadership role deepened her understanding of the special education system and sparked her passion for educating and empowering parents as they navigated their child’s special education journey.
Kate holds a dual master’s degree in Elementary and Special Education, equipping her with expertise in both general and special education practices. She is certified to teach in four states—NY, CT, RI, and MA. She has worked in public schools as well as a contracted private teacher.
Kate and her husband, Tom, have two sons, Thomas and Reilly, who keep life lively and full of adventures. Their “third son,” Conroy, a spirited parti-labradoodle, adds even more joy to the household. In her spare time, Kate loves spending time with her family in RI & NY and going on hikes!
